The conference features a full day of workshops, panels, keynotes and networking sessions with a panoply of influential thought leaders, artists, and industry experts.

Why
Music and culture have the power to accelerate wider societal transformation. ADE Green creates a space for an international, impact-driven communities; powered by renowned institutions like A Greener Future, Atelier One, Julie’s Bicycle, Circular Festivals, Climate Cleanup Foundation, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Shambala Festival, to name only a few examples from past editions.

Contribution
I took on various responsibilities in the ADE Green conference team.

  • Communication: led strategy and output from 2022–2025, guarding the branding (distinct from ADE, yet under same umbrella). Translating programs with complex topics into clear stories for a diverse international audience.

  • Partnerships: worked closely with international event partners and ambassadors; overviewing partnership agreements and aligning content, communication and community building.

  • Program: developed overarching program lines, and curated  one dedicated session each year, see below.

Voices from and for Palestine

ADE Green 2024
This panel created space for Palestinian voices across music, visual arts, and cultural activism. Sama’ Abdulhadi, Ahmad Mallah, and Liese Kingsma (Space of Urgency) shared how displacement, identity, and solidarity shape their work; moderated by Niloufar Nematollahi (Diaspora Radio). The session explored both the power and the limitations of art as resistance in the face of silencing within cultural institutions and music organizations.

Creating Safer Spaces in Clubs & Festivals

ADE Green 2023
An interactive workshop presented by Stichting Sexmatters on how to build safer, more inclusive nightlife environments. The session gave practical tools for teams and event staff, addressing challenges around social safety, discrimination, and misconduct, while encouraging open discussion among industry professionals.

The Green Buzzword Bingo

 ADE Green 2022
A playful yet educational session that unpacked the jargon of sustainability in the cultural sector. Presented as part of the Festival Sustainability Lab, it invited participants to test their knowledge and learn about concepts such as resilience, circularity, and regenerative economies. Because how can sustainability be engaging when narratives fall into the traps of repetitive, superficial phrases and greenwashing?
