At the end of 2024, I guided the editorial and design process of the Duurzaamheidsladder Evenementen (DLE) and Duurzaamheidsladder Zakelijke Evenementen (DLZ), a framework to help organisers, municipalities, and suppliers take concrete steps toward more sustainable and inclusive events. The tool combines ecological, social, and governance themes in a five-step growth model that motivates organisations to keep developing.
My role was to make sure the ladder was both comprehensive and accessible — not just a policy tool, but something tangible that professionals can actually use in their day-to-day. The DLE has since started to become a reference point in the outdoor and business section of events, and I’m personally really looking forward to the next iteration for the cultural sector.
