About
Emergency Exit is an EU-funded collaboration between Exit Festival, La Fura dels Baus, Boom Festival, and Green Events (2024-2026). The project is centred around the creation of an immersive theatre performance with a climate crisis narrative.
Why
Festivals across Europe operate with very different levels of access to resources, funding and technology. Behind the scenes, the aim was to adopt the same sustainable practices across different contexts. Different teams in east & south European countries.Emergency Exit creates a space for knowledge exchange and strengthening sustainable practices together.
Contribution
Green Events was the lead in implementing sustainable practices throughout the project:
Co-developing the framework of riders and guidelines, including categories such as communication, materials, energy, and community action. Coaching on these subjects and facilitating knowledge exchange.
Translating sustainability principles into practical tools and frameworks that could be applied by artists, organizers, and partners.
- Overviewing project timelines, budgets, and compiling EU reports.
