In 2022–2023, I contributed to the Festival Sustainability Lab, an EU-funded collaboration between Green Events, Innofest, One Resilient Earth and LiveGreen. The project set out to accelerate the transformation of the cultural and creative sectors, making them more resilient and future-proof.
The Labs were designed to bring together festival organisers, artists, cultural professionals, and students to experiment with new ideas and co-create best practices through digital labs, masterclasses and coaching.

At the heart of the programme were three digital labs and the LiveGreen Masterclass, which offered a structured learning journey:
Four modules covering ecological sustainability, social sustainability, communication & impact, and innovation & the future
Educational films with international experts and festival pioneers
A digital platform with checklists, tools, and resources
Online workshops to exchange knowledge and encourage collaboration
In addition, selected festivals received personal coaching, including on-site visits, audience research, and tailored sustainability roadmaps.
As part of the project, I was responsible for the communication strategy and dissemination. This involved coordinating outputs across multiple European partners, and ensuring results and best practices were shared with the wider cultural sector.
We presented the project at ADE Green 2022, the leading conference on sustainability and social change in the music and festival industry. Together with partners, we hosted The Green Buzzword Bingo – a playful but educational session unpacking sustainability jargon and greenwashing.
